Raise the clocks by 5mhz or 10mhz and scan for artifacts using ATITool for round 30mins or so. Stock: Core Clock: 565 MHz Shader Clock: 1242 MHz Memory Clock: 700 MHz Overclocked: Core Clock: 590 MHz Shader Clock: 1599 MHz Memory Clock: 730 MHz And this has been stable Here are the stock settings for a normal 8600GT if you want to find out if yours was underclocked. I know, I had one, an msi and it came from the factory overclocked.
If you're new to Tech Support Guy, we highly recommend that you visit our Guide for New Members. The audio was connected with a simlpe cable from soundcard to TV audio input. Aren't there some usual accepted limits when it comes to this? An 8600GT is suppose to have 32 shaders (clocked rather high I might add) though I see you got a cheap DDR2 version.
