The one giveaway was the sender in the email header.  Although it stated that it was from "Amazon.co.uk " - if you hover over that, the This is where alarm bells start to ring. Amazon don't send you anything with a word document attached, and in all likelihood this contained a virus or link to download a virus. Scammers are getting more and more clever. There were genuine links in the email to pages on Amazon, so if I had clicked onto those links I would have been directed safely to my Amazon account login page. Check This Out

There was a word document attached with details of the order. There was nothing malicious in the email itself but if I'd opened the word document, then trouble was waiting for me. I received an email today purporting to be from Amazon, telling me that the order I placed yesterday had been despatched.
